Jesse Campbell Evans was son of Thomas Jefferson Evans and Martha Jane Lofton, daugther of Eli Lofton and Susan Woodliff. Martha Jane was second wife of Thomas Jefferson Evans. Jessie Campbell 'Cam' Evans first married on December 20, 1887 to Ellen Villines, daughter of Copeland and Jency Reeves. Ellen was born January 1, 1865, died December 5, 1922, she is buried Low Gap Cemetery in Newton County. The following January 1920 census, Low Gap Township, Newton County, Arkansas is the last census enumeration for Ellen. Daughter Nellie is age 17 living at home...Nellie married Ober C. 'Tom' Jackson. In the obituary for Nellie Jackson, it states that she was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma... The following April 23, 1930 census, Red Lick Township, Johnson County, Arkansas shows Jesse C. Evans with second wife, Malinda, as well as Malinda's son Jesse Boling... Malinda first appears on census records June 22, 1880 in District No. 61, Leslie County, Kentucky. In household with her father and mother, Eli Estep and Catherine Roberts. Children enumerated were Malinda age 6, Ella age 13, and John under 1 year old. Leslie County was formed in 1878, Malinda was born the part of Clay County that was included in the creation of Leslie County. Malinda Estep was first married to William Boling. The 1910 Newton County, Arkansas census shows William Boling and Malinda living in Walnut Township. Children appearing on the census are: Jessie age 18, Herbert age 15, Henry C. age 12, Eil age 8, and Mary C. age 4. William Boling was son of George Boling and Agatha Richardson.
