Item #2 Claude Carlton:
Managed Diamond Cave and Skate Rink. He was son of Columbus Franklin Carlton and Martha Waters. Claude was born January 28, 1903, Newton County, Arkansas; he died May 9, 1988 and was buried in Union Hill Cemetery, Newton County.

Item #24 Dylan in Cave:
Hey Judy, I have a web page of the cave from just a couple of years ago when some of our bunch went to look around. The page is messed up a little due to my moving around things. As, soon as I get it fixed I'll send you the link and you can have all the pictures you want. Here's one of my son, Dylan. I love this picture. I have it blown up and framed in my livingroom. The pictures were taken 9-27-03.

Item #25 Work Crew at Diamond Cave, 1930s:
This picture was in my mother's (Opal Coffey) photo collection. Unfortunately I don't have names to go with this picture. Mom had simply labeled it 'work crew'. If anyone can name those pictured, please do.

Item #26 Tourist Park, Diamond Cave:
I'll bet this was one of the very first three-story buildings in Newton County in the 1920's.

Glad that you sent the picture Doug. I had this post card, but did not know who the man was...it simply states Manager at entrance of Diamond Caverns.

Judy - I will send you a few pictures that you may not have, from my mother's (Opal Coffey) collection. I know that Mom would approve so you are welcome to use any of them in your project if you think them suitable. I don't know the name of the man in this photo.

Item #30 Pinnacle Ceiling Chamber:
The man in the photo is believed to be a Dr. McFerrin. If that is correct, it was probably Dr. John Orestus McFerrin (1 Feb 1871-25 May 1945) of Jasper.
