The Bible was published in New York in 1860 by the American Bible Society. The rather limited notes seem to have been written by two different people. Sarah could barely write, her hand was poor as was her spelling. Some of the notes appear much better. She appears to have the birth records of three of her grandchildren which offer no new information. She does have her own marriage date 'Sary Little was married the tenth of Jan 1841'.

The Bible was passed down through Sarah's son, Francis Calaway Stephens, and was in possession of Betty Grimmett Steel of Tulsa until 2001 when she gave it to me.
