Arkansas Memorials and Markers




There are memorial items all across the state, whether it be a town square or court house with monuments and memorials, historical society dedication displays, plaques that commemorate founding fathers or charter members of an organization, corner stone engravings, dedications to Veterans, markers that denote a historic trail or historical location, detailed momuments and memorials at cemeteries, the list goes on. Ronnie and DeLinda Watkins took pictures of the Confederate Memorial and Boone County War Memorial in Harrison, Arkansas. I have transcribed all names and info.

The Watkins didn't stop after taking pictures of the War Memorial in Harrison. DeLinda and her husband took pictures that include all bricks in the Triangle of Honor! And I DO need help in transcribing the names :o).

All I had to do was holler out and ask DeLinda to take a picture of the monument in Boone County of those who were killed in the 1857 attack...a much needed momument picture to go along with the Mountain Meadows Massacre piece.

A pulpit in the arbor at Wayland Cemetery at Dolph, Izard County, Arkansas is a memorium to Henry Wayland. Atop the pulpit is a plaque that names pioneer preachers. Names have been transcribed. Rosa Cline sent me pictures for the Those Who Served page for Madison County, Arkansas. I hollered and asked if she could take close-up pictures of the War Memorial, so I could transcribe the names...and of course, she did!

I took a picture of the memorial located on the corner of the Court House Square in Jasper, Newton County, Arkansas...a memorium to Newton Countians who lost their lives in service to their country. All names transcribed.

A memorial honoring the coal miners of South Sebastian County, Arkansas is located at Greenwood. View names that have been transcribed from memorial...may not be inclusive, as I saw a note from the historical society that names could still be added to the memorial at a cost of $40.00 per name...Also view scrapbook of submitted pictures of the memorial, sends yours!

If Rosa Cline had the time, I think she would take pictures in every cemetery in Arkansas :o). The pictures in this group are of memoriums and plaques taken at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Washington County, Arkansas. The Revolutionary War Memorial lists names of Benton, Boone, Madison, and Washington countians who served...
