Carroll County, Arkansas Was Erected November 1st, 1833, by an act of the Territorial Legislature. The original territory was reduced in 1836, 1842 and 1869, upon the formation, respectively, of Madison, Newton and Boone.

Taley Of Civil War Pensioners There were more pensioners in Carroll County than in any other county in the state.

Springs of Carroll County Jean Baptiste, whose mother was the daughter of a Sioux chief...the daughter of this chief was blind, or almost so. Her father was told of a stream of water...a medicine man was told to take his daughter thither. They remained six moons, when she was entirely cured. Also included are vintage photographs of springs in Carroll County...as well as a link to newspaper articles about the opening of the Crescent Hotel, which utilized the entire flow of Congress Spring.
