William Pleasant Farmer In Civil War
Submitted by Sharon Roland
William Pleasant Farmer
Pvt 2nd Reg Ark Inf
Company E
Enlisted: December 24, 1863
Discharged: August 8, 1865
He was married to Elizabeth Daniels who died in 1930 in Haskell Co, OK. They are both buried in the Old Panther
Cemetery. His residence was in Jasper, Arkansas. William P. Farmer always had a sawmill where ever he lived and
this is probably true since they lived around
the national forest area. When the war was going on, the home place in Jasper was burned and William left the war to take
care of his family and was charged with desertion, but later returned to duty when his family was okay.
