| Riley Watson, 81, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at Grace Living Center in Woodward, Oklahoma. He was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Swain, Ark.
He married Edna Edwards in 1946 in Swain. He later married Alberta Watson in Liberal. He was employed as a concrete finisher for Mehl Concrete. Survivors include companion, Cathy Wilma Benedict, Woodward; five sons, Billy W. Watson and wife, Linda, Liberal, Larry D. Watson and wife, Kaylin, Greeley, Colo., Jerry L. Watson and wife, Mary, Eudora, Danny J. Watson and wife, Cindy, Warrior, Ala., and Lonnie P. Watson and wife, Melissa, Chaflin; one daughter, Judy Faire and husband, Jimmy, Beaver, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren one brother, Roy Self, Shiloh, Ark.; and five sisters, Mary Ellen Young, Bentonville, Ark., Georgie Brown, Rogers, Ark., Rhoda Vaughn, Wayton, Ark., Opha Daniels, Shiloh, Daisey Lyon, Shiloh, and Lucille Vaughn Douglas. He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Paul Watson in 1971; two daughters, Genitta Sue Watson in 1950 and Elizabeth Ann Watson in 1974; and one sister, Minnie Spencer. Leoma J. Atkins, 87, of Clarksville died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005 at Clarskville Convalescent Home. She was born July 25,
1918, at Clarksville, daughter of the late William Perry and Nancy Self Houston. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School and attended the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by three brother, Roy, George and Floyd Houston; five sisters, Estelle Stutts, Rela Bean, Beulah Hardgrave, Edith Williams and Eula Houston.

Herbert Armer, 77, of Green Forest died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 at Green Forest.

He was a pipe fitter and belonged to the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union 405 in Tulsa, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Nelta L. Georgia H. Jackson, 96, of Anderson, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at her home. She was born April 21, 1910, in
Baxter Springs, Kan., to George Harold Ralph and Lillie O’Conner Ralph.
| She was raised and educated in Baxter Springs. She married Otis Lee Jackson on July 24, 1925, in Bentonville, Ark. She was a homemaker and was a Pentecostal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Lee Jackson, in 1975; a son, Harold Jackson; and a daughter, Beulah Rundle. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Everett Jackson and Gladys Jackson of Bentonville, Ark.; three daughters, Rosey May Goodnight of Anderson, Ella May McIver of Bentonville and Bertha L. Adams of Van Buren, Ark.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. | Rites Saturday For Mrs. Boen To Be At Church Here Mrs. Martha Boen, aged 66, died at her home at Oark Monday night at 8 o'clock after a short illness. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ed Nowotny of Clarksville, Mrs. Edgar Hill of Clarksville and Mrs. Hiram Ellison of Catalpa; three sons, Joe and Fred Baker of Oark and Willie Boen of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Hill of Oark and Mrs. Iva Yarborough of Tulsa, Okla.; five brothers, Alvin Cline of Kingston, Art Van Cline of Phoenix, Arizona., A. Cline of Forth Smith, Morrison Cline of Missouri, George Cline of Fayetteville; her step-mother, Mrs. L. Cline of Oark, and 11 grandchildren. Mrs. Boen was born in Kingston and moved to Oark 33 years ago. She was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Oark with the Rev. A. P. Elliff, pastor of the First Baptist church of Clarksville officiating. | Grandma Dun (Margaret E.) Since commencing our communication we are advised that Grandma Dun died at 9 o'clock Saturday night and was buried Sunday at Boiling Springs. Mrs. Dun was a christian woman. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. W. R. Hale, and a host of
friends to mourn her death.

Raymond Blake, 76 of Fordyce, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in the Dallas County Nursing Home. He was born December 6, 1929 in Logan, West Virginia a son of Floyd Blake and Garnett Wendell Blake. He is survived by one brother, Dillon Ray Blake of North Little Rock; two sisters, June Kuhn of Colorado City, TX and Louetta Ragsdale of Bryant; one sister-in-law, Marie Blake of Hot Springs and many nieces and nephews. 18 Sep 1913 | Pioneer Citizen Dead J. L. Tate died yesterday at his home at Falerno, after having been in poor health for two or three years. Mr. Tate was about sixty years old and was a prominent farmer and business man who was well known in Pope County. Buried Rushing Cemetery.

12 Jan 1911 | Ex-Confederate Passes Away H. S. Taylor of Bayliss Township one of Pope County's oldest citizens, departed this life January 8, 1911, after an illness of twenty four days at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 9 days. Mr. Taylor was born in Lawrence County, Tennessee, March 29, 1843 and moved to Pope County, Arkansas in 1857. He entered the Confederate Army when eighteen years of age and served faithfully till he was wounded at Corinth, Miss. He was married to Mary C. Pless, February 23, 1869. He professed religion and joined the C. P. church in the fall of 1869 and was soon made an elder, which office he filled acceptably until his death. He was one of the prime factors in organizing the old 'New Prospect', afterwards Mt. Carmel, congregation, in which he spent the remainder of his life. He served his township as magistrate for a number of years and his district as school director for many years. He was one of the pioneers who established rural schools in this part of the county. He was the father of eleven children, three of whom have passed on before him. He died in an unbounded confidence in the Savior whom he tried to serve while living. A wife and eight children and a host of friends and comrades are left to mourn his death.

Woodrow McCain, 67 year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died August 10, 2005, at his residence. Born February 28, 1938 in Row, Oklahoma, he was the son of J.B. McCain and Loretta Fern Duncan. He lived most of his life in the Siloam Springs area where he owned and operated Woody's Tire Shop. He was an Air Force Veteran and attended Harvard Avenue Baptist Church, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Woodrow married Opal Virginia Millard in 1984.
| Survivors include his wife Opal of the home; his mother, Fern Duncan of Watts, Oklahoma; his father, J.B. McCain of Reedley, California; one son Leroy Dean McCain of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two daughters, Doris Jean Northcutt of Athens, Georgia, and Charlotte LeAnn Guthrie of Gentry, Arkansas; two step sons, Marty Nodurfth of White Hall, Arkansas, and Mark Nodurfth of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and two half brothers, Donald McCain of Reedley, California, and John McCain, of Dinuba, California; three sisters, Maxine Bowser and husband Nelson, and Jimmie Corbin and husband Douglas, all of Watts, Oklahoma, Jonnie Ware and husband Eldon of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two step sisters, Daisy Beck and husband Earl, and Bunny McJunkin, all of Lowell, Arkansas. 11 Jun 1891 | Uncle George Rushing living on Baker's Creek died Monday afternoon. He was 70 years old and has been in feeble health for some time. The internment took place Tuesday in what is known as the Rushing Cemetery.

He was born in Dixon Co. Tenn. Oct. 10, 1811, aged 79 years 7 months and 18 days. He moved from Dixon Co. to Stewart Co. Tenn., when but a very small boy. Here in 1831 he married Miss Mary B. Humphreys. In 1836 he moved from Stewart Co. Tenn. to Pope County, Ark. Bro. George Rushing has been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church for fifty years of his life.
He was loved and respected by all who knew him.

Rev. William Lauther Chadwick, of Dover was born October 7, 1890 at Oxford, Arkansas the son of the late Rev. John and Sarah Chadwick.
He departed this life August 16, 1963 at St. Mary's hospital, Russellville. He accepted Christ at 14 years
of age and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. He was a minister for 48 years pastoring churches in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
| He was married to Nora Ann Crow in the year of 1908, who preceeded him in death in 1936. To this union four children were born, Frank, Alvie, and Lorenda of California and James of Witt Springs. In 1937 he was married to Lillie Miller. He is survived by his widow, the four children and one step-daughter, Janet Drewery. Other survivors are 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ab of Oxley and Homer of Leslie, three sisters Dovie Massey of California, Cloie Brascum of Missouri and Mary McDaniel of Thola. He was preceeded in death by three sisters. Funeral services were held in the Witts Springs Community church August 19, conducted by Rev. Chester Roten of Harrison and Rev.
Don Hankins of Dover. Burial was in the

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Florence Clark, 74 years old who died Wednesday at her home in the Holman community,
northeast of here, was held Thursday afternoon at | Anna's Chapel Cemetery, with the Arkansas Funeral Home of
Clarksville in charge of arrangements.
Mrs Clark was the widow of the late Daniel Clark. Survivors include six sons, Bill Clark of Vanduser, Mo. George Clark of Lurton , Ark., and Jim, Daniel, Brooks and John Clark, all of Lamar; four daughters, Mrs. Ora Pearson of Bell City, Mo., Chlora Lou of Holman, Mrs. Ollie Alderson and Mrs. Emie Henley of Lamar; three brothers, Charlie Patterson of San Benito, Texas, and Edward and Gilbert Patterson, both of Sikeston, MO.; two sisters Mrs. Isabell McClain and Mrs Tennie Daniel, both of Lamar; 36 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
