Feb. 3, 1910 Union Springs
The death angel has visited our community and taken from us Bro. Drew Calder. His death was a surprise to all.

The writer was with him Sunday evening before his death on Monday and seemed to be in good health. He helped Mack Langford grind his ax Monday morning about 9 o'clock, which was the last seen of him until he was found dead in his barn about sundown the same day, Jan. 24.

He has no close relatives that we know of. He came from Mississippi and has been in this community 25 or 30 years. He was 56 years old, and his death is supposed to have been from paralysis. He was laid to rest in the Boiling Springs Cemetery. {c-d}
