Virginia Arlene (Smith, Simmons) Heard, age 52, a 30-year resident of Albuquerque, NM and formerly of Springfield, MO, passed away on September 27, 2004. Virginia graduated from Albuquerque High in 1973 and worked at Kirtland Air Force Base for many years. She was a genealogy enthusiast. She is preceded in death by her mother, Cora Mabel Smith; her father, Virgil Collins Smith; two brothers, Charles Virgil Smith, James Clark Smith; and one grandson, Michael Ray Olivas. Virginia is survived by her husband of eight years, Daniel T. Heard, Jr.; two daughters, Rhonda Rene and her husband, Ramon Olivas Jr. and Kimberly Ann Simmons; six grandchildren, Amanda Michele Olivas, Samantha Marie Boesiger, Deanna Leeann Boesiger, Andrew Ray Olivas, Ryan Alexander Simmons, and Aron Michael Olivas. Survivors include his wife, Louise Villines Reynolds, to whom he was married March 12, 1953; two sons, Jerry Reynolds and John Reynolds and his wife, Yaowaluck Reynolds, all of Springdale; two brothers, Clinton Reynolds of Osceola, Mo., and Clayton Reynolds of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Cleo Austin of Kansas City, Mo., Josephine Villines of Springdale, Almarene Young of Ponca and Nancy Presley of Independence, Mo.; two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with the Rev. Bill Williams and the Rev. Claude Williams officiating. Burial will be in Boxley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Barnhill, Jamie House, Bobby Villines, Danny Villines, Brian Young and Heath Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd House, Dannie Marsh, Alden Pierce, David Reynolds, Spencer Reynolds and Harold Young. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today. Dorwin was a veteran of the US Army Air Force during World War II. He was a teacher and administrator for the Newton County Schools. He was an avid fisherman and historian and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. All of his loving family as well as the many students he taught in the Newton County area will remember him as a good and honest Newton County man. He has now Gone Fishin' with his brothers who preceded him on the banks of the river beyond. He has joined hands with his daughter, Burnell, and his grandson, Patrick Burns, who were waiting on him. His spirit will forever be felt in the mountains and streams of Newton County that he so dearly loved. May his sole rest in peace. Dorwin is survived by his wife of almost sixty six years, Iobra Eileen Shelton; his son and daughter-in-law, Dorwin Lynn and Ginny Shelton, of St. Augustine, Florida; his daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Sue and Arch Ober of Springdale, Janice and Norman Sloan of Jasper, Arkansas, Glenda Burns of Wiesbaden, Germany and Ford Carlton of Claremore, Oklahoma; his brothers, William Shelton, Jr. of Wayton, Arkansas, Everett Gerald Shelton and Charles Shelton, both of Parthenon, Arkansas, and Sammie Shelton of Harrison, Arkansas; his sisters, Beulah Reynolds of Parthenon and Wilma Carter of Owasso, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends throughout the community. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery following the 2:00 PM funeral service. The 10:00 AM service will be officiated by Rev. David Talbert and the 2:00 PM service will be officiated by Rev. Bobby Young and Rev. Newton Smith. Virginia Mae Rhine, 55, of Springdale died Sept. 22, 1995, at Springdale Nursing Center. She was born April 24, 1940, at Clifty to Charles U. and Mae Lillie Cornelison George. She was a retired nurse's aide, a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church of Springdale, and a lifelong resident of the area. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, James W. Rhine of the home, to whom she was married Nov. 15, 1958; three sons, Danny Rhine and Michael T. Rhine, both of Fayetteville, and James Glenn Rhine fo Pineville, MO.; one daughter, Valerie D. Turner of Springdale; two brothers, Leroy George of Pontiac, Mich., and Corbett George of Springdale; four sisters, Alice Glenn, Cuba Glenn, Erma (Johnnie) Pine and Zelma Taylor, all of Springdale; eight grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sisco Chapel of Springdale with the Rev. Randy Burris officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Lois Belle Goucher, 83, of Springdale died Aug. 18, 2000, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born Feb. 2, 1917, in Alabam to Lee and Mable Hatfield Lindsay. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Bluff Church of Christ. He husband, Loy Goucher, preceded her in death. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Lee Goucher and Erna of Springdale; five brothers, Leslie Lindsay of Huntsville, Robert Dell Lindsay and Jimmy Lindsay, both of Fayetteville, and Bill Lindsay and Bobby Lindsay, both of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with Dub DeLoach and David Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Alabam Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanley Myers, Donald Myers, Ken Parker, Calvin Tackett, Dwain Hatfield and Gary Hatfield. Family visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. {mn} |

Will F. Sharp....from WILL F. SHARP
Mr. Sharp was united in marriage to Dora Ingram, December 11, 1898, and to this union five children were born. Three children have preceeded him in death.

One son, William Wesley Sharp, of Smithville Rt.1
One sister, Miss Mary Sharp, of Kansas City, Mo.
Two brothers, Jake Sharp, of Paragould and
George Sharp, of Largo, Fla.
Also 17 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren,
9 great great grandchildren, and many
other relatives and friends.
Mr. Sharp was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church
for approximately 20 years.

Lucille King, 72, of Decatur died Jan. 12, 2002, at her home. She was born on June 2, 1929, in Newton County to Hershel and Ethel Reynolds Cooksey. She was a Baptist and lived in Arkansas for 43 years. She liked cooking and fishing. Survivors include her husband, Bill King, to whom she was married March 5, 1944, in Jasper; five sons, Gene King of Siloam Springs, Don King of Highfill, Tim King of Siloam Springs, Randy King of Decatur and Tony King of Rogers; three daughters, Shirley Roller of Highfill, Phyllis Rudder of Gentry and Sandra Perkins of Decatur; one brother, Wayne Cooksey of Missouri; two sisters, Delsie Jackson and Jewell Sparks, both of Monte Ne; 36 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sisco Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Garwin Reid officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Newton County. Cleva Hiner, 91, of Guthrie, Oklahoma died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006 at Guthrie. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Community Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at Shaddox Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's of Oklahoma. The daughter of the late Claude Frazier and Cynthia Hunter was born Nov. 24, 1914, at Fairland, Oklahoma. She was the wife of the late Lessley LeRoy Hiner. |
