Loetta Lea (Villines) Jackson, 62, of Harrison, died Saturday, May 10 (2003) at the Harrison Nursing Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at Crossroads Church with Sister Jean Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 at Holt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery at Compton. Pallbearers will be Pete Daniels, Fred Holmes, Jason Jones, Pacer Selvidge, John Adams and Josh Criner. Honorary pallbearers include nephews. The daughter of Arie Lee and Cynthia Cammie Elizabeth Henderson Villines was born April 9, 1941 in Center Point. She worked in the dietary department and patient care at Harrison Nursing Center. She was named 'pancake lady' by the residents of the nursing center. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Daisy Newberry, and a brother, Terry Mitchell Villines. She is survived by one son, Pete Daniels of Harrison, two daughters, Brigette Daniels of Harriosn and Amanda McCoy of Marshall, five brothers, Sherman, Hillard, Willard, Eddie and Teddie Villines, all of Compton, three sisters, Christene Brickey of San Antiono, TX, Ruth Newberry and Netta Stone, both of Green Forest, and two grandchildren, Talyana and Abby. |

Freeman Wesley Allred, 77, of Springdale died Aug 14, 2002 at Springdale. He was born Oct 25, 1924, in Osage to William Wesley and Dewey Mae Chafin Allred. He was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Elmdale Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lois Allred; two daughters, Karen Allred of Enver, Colo. and Susan Elliott of Dallas, Texas; one son, Keith Allred of Little Rock; two brothers, John Allred of Irving, Texas and Bobby Allred of Staunton, Va; one sister, Eileen Davis of North Little Rock; five grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Pickens Cemetery in Green Forest. Visitation wil be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Eloise Hackler age 81 of Rogers, Arkansas died Monday, December 28, 1998 at her home. She was born November 11, 1917 in Mount Ida, Arkansas the daughter of Mac W. and Mary Elizabeth Hall Martin. Eloise married Joe Bill Hackler on September 30, 1940 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, moved to the area in 1954 from Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was a devoted mother and wife, Eloise was a member of Central Methodist Church, longtime member of P.E.O. Chapter U, and she volutneered at the Battered Women's Shelter and St. Mary's Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Joe Bill of the home; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Dr. Chris and Joan Hackler and Tim and Sheri Hackler all of Little Rock, Arkansas; 1 sister: Mrs, Christine Curry of Baldwin, Missouri; 2 grandsons: Ben Hackler and John Brogden both of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was precede in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Odell and Paul Martin. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 31, 1998 at 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Bell officiating. Burial will be at Benton County Memorial Park. Visitation is Wednesday, December 30, 1998 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers. Nettie M. Dixson, 102, of Conway died Dec. 30, 1998, at Salem Place Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 24, 1896, in Nevada County to Thomas Wilburn and Winnie Belle Greenwood Haynie. She worked in retail sales for 30 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Longview, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Dixson; one son. Survivors include three daughters, Alta Kinard of Atlanta, Ga., Jean Garner of Conway and Bette Hahs of Rogers; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. Gene Perry Brock, 78, of Cassville, Missouri died Dec. 24, 1998, at Red Rose Inn in Cassville. He was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Barry County to Oliver P. and Carrie Edmondson Brock. He was a 1940 graduate of Cassville High Schol and was an Army veteran, serving with the 291st Signal Corps in the Philippines and Japan. He retired from Barry Electric Cooperative in Cassville in 1981 after 35 years. He was a charter member and deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion Post 118. He was preceded in death by one son and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Eudora Leigh Spieth Brock, to whom he was married Nov. 28, 1941; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Gene Brock and Bonnie of Springdale and Harold Ray Brock and Linda of Fayetteville; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherill Leigh Easley and Charles of Elm Springs; two brothers, Roger Brock and Blaine Brock, both of Cassville; three sisters, Jessie Hutchens, Georgia Sisney and Mary Davidson, all of Cassville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Services were Dec. 28 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Shaw and the Rev. Bob Neeley officiating. A flag ceremony was conducted by American Legion Post 118. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. William F. 'Bill' Barton, 81, of Bentonville died July 29, 2000, at his home. He was born May 19, 1919, in Farmington to Richard and Susie Young Barton. He was an Army veteran of World War II and moved to Bentonville in 1981 from St. Charles, Mo. He was a member of the Men's 9-Hole Golf Association and the Bella Vista Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mae Barton of Bentonville; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Barton and Mary Jo of Lenexa, Kan.; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy Stewart and Bud of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Nell Ten Eyck of St. Louis; seven grandchildren. Ben E. Bassham, 98, of Rogers died July 31, 2000, at a local nursing home. He was born Nov. 15, 1901, in Viola to John Frederick and Hattie Marie Thomason Bassham. He was a retired carpenter who had built many homes and businesses in the area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Bassham. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, William H. Bassham and Donna of Pea Ridge, Edgar C. Bassham of Rogers and Dr. Ben L. Bassham and Carolyn of Kent, Ohio; one sister, Phyllis K. Laughlin of Rogers; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Ercell Marie Akers, 86, of Fayetteville died Nov. 30, 1998, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born Feb. 14, 1912, in West Fork to Jord and Augie Rutherford York. She was retired from the restaurant business. She was a welder at a defense plant during World War II and was a member of Baldwin Church of Christ for 56 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester O. Akers; two brothers; one son. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Leona Chloedell and Francis Ferguson of Springdale; two grandsons, Tom Ferguson and Dan Ferguson, both of Springdale; one great-grandson, Brandon Ferguson of Springdale. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Ozark. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mae Roberson; a son, Doyle Roberson; and five grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Christine Edgmon of Bentonville, Ark.; three sons, William C. Roberson of Gladstone, Mo., Kenneth Roberson of Greenwood, Ark., and Carl Roberson of Sedgwick, Kan.; a sister, Vera Magby of Charleston, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Rosa Elizabeth Townzen, 87, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at a nursing home in Rogers. She was born March 18, 1916, in Little Flock, Ark., to James Monroe Jordan and Lucy Ethel Wight Jordan. She was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Howard Woodrow Townzen on April 21, 1934, in Bentonville, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Woodrow Townzen, on April 4, 1995; a son, James Woodrow Townzen; a granddaughter, Mechele Townzen; four sisters, Pearl Stockton, Gertrude Townzen, Ruth Stockton and Hazel Townzen; and three brothers, Marvin Jordan, Ray Jordan and Winfred "Red" Jordan. Survivors include three daughters, Roberta Edgmon of Sedgwick, Kan., Shirley Mae Major of Rogers and Delores Burrows of Webb City, Mo.; a son, Steve Townzen of Cave Springs, Ark.; a sister, Pauline Pruitt of Rogers; a brother, Kenneth Jordan of Rogers; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Lillie M. (Weaver) Kiefer, 70, of 410 Northeast Second, in Walnut Ridge, died Sunday at 4:28 am at Saint Bernard's Regional Medical Center, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
She was borned in Pocahontas, Arkansas, and had lived most of her life in Walnut Ridge. She was a housewife, and of Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 am in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge, with burial in Randolph Memorial Gardens near Pocahontas, Glenn Chadwick, minister officiated. Birth: August 30, 1914
