Clissie Campbell, 79, a former Newton County resident died Wednesday, February 11 2004 at Kindred Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Shepherd in 2003; three brothers, Henry, Oliver and Devoe Campbell; a sister, Bessie Burks; a half sister, Reba Stucky; a granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Survivors are children, Barbara Joan Mitchell of N. Kansas City, Mo. and Bobby L. Campbell of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, Jimmie Campbell of Deer; two half sisters, Mina Fuller of Kansas City, Mo. and Tina Gregory of Lurton; a stepsister, Avel Chisum of Pelsor; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and other relatives. Sherman, Ronnie and Linda Kilgore of Jasper, Edward and Meshelle Kilgore of Mt. Sherman, Leisa and Randy Spencer of Mt. Sherman, and Peggy and Leroy Edwards of Burlington; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. |

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26 at Low Gap Full Gospel Church with Brother Donnie Villines officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 25 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Burial will be in Low Gap Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Warren Self, Samuel Villines, L. C. Matlock, Melvin House, Charlie Parker and William Jeff Villines. Honorary pallbearers include grandsons. The son of the late Ulysses Sidney and Janie (Villines) Kilgore was born March 4, 1914, in Low Gap. He was a farmer, a member of the Low Gap Full Gospel Church and a lifetime resident of Newton County. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, especially turkey hunting, until his health prevented his going, having to give it up at the age of 90. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Austin's grandparents were some of the first settlers at Low Gap around 1870, raising 16 children close to where Austin raised his own children years later. Austin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Stella Modena Kilgore of May 9, 2004; his parents; two brothers, Herman and Hubern Kilgore; and one sister, Freda Gulley Brown. She is survived by his seven children, Charles Edward and Sandy Kilgore of Harrison, Onedia and Steve Des Jardin of Jasper, Orlan Kilgore of Mt. Sherman, Ronnie and Linda Kilgore of Jasper, Edward Earl and Meshelle Kilgore of Mt. Sherman, Leisa and Randy Spencer of Mt. Sherman and Peggy Lynn and Leroy Edwards of Burlington; 12 grandchildren, Charles Kilgore, Jr., Charlene Finley, Denny and Barry Waters, Robbie and Jason Kilgore, Michelle Mitchel, Daniel Kilgore, Donnetta Rocole, Randy Spencer, Jr., Natasha Eddings and Christy Ayers; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, yet his memory will live forever. |

Margie Rae Sexton Moore, 72, of Clarksville died June 18, 2003, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was a retired factory employee, Baptist, daughter of the late Corbett and Rosie Acord Sexton, widow of Junior L. Moore, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Bowen and Dean Kraus; two brothers, Verner Sexton and Earnest Sexton; and one great-grandson, Logan Wilson. Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Kay Wilson of Ozone and Connie Sue Moore of Russellville; one son, Alan Ray Moore of Van Buren; one sister, Argie Williams of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mildred Louise Bishop, 79, of Green Forest died Saturday, Sept. 8 (2001) in her home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Nelson Chapel in Green Forest with Rev. Jim Goins officiating. Interment will follow in the Pickens Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Green Forest where she was very active in the Ruth Sunday School Class as long as her health allowed. She was an active member of the Jordan-Davis American Legion Auxiliary, a 1939 Green Forest High School graduate and a homemaker. On Sept. 16, 1939 she was united in marriage with Wilburn Carl Bishop Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one son, Tommy K. Bishop. She is survived by three sons, Terry K. Bishop and his wife, Pat of Owasso, Okla., Patrick K. Bishop of Oak Grove, Ark. and Merrill K. Bishop and his wife, Robbie of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Carlyn K. Loftis and her husband, Lindal of Green Forest and Rhonda K. Yarberry and her husband, Bob of Charleston, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Tommy K. He was born at Mt. Sherman, AR and had lived in Kansas City for 38 years. He was the son of the late Admiral Dewey Villines, Sr., and Dorothy Lee Kilgore Villines. He was a private detective and had been Chief of Security for the Medical Plaza Partners for 11 years. He was commissioned a private detective and private officer by the Kansas City Police Department in 1981. He was a member of the Peace Officers Association of Kansas City. Survivors include his wife Maxine Villines of the home; a son, Dale Villines, and a daughter, Deborah Williams Sudlik, both of Kansas City; a stepson, Daniel Ruliffson of Fort Lee, VA; s stepdaughter, Kathy Campe, Lakewood, CO; one brother, Harold Glen Villines of Dearborne, MO; one sister, Frankie Ione Humann of Olathe, KS; and seven grandchildren. Margaret Allene Watson, 75, of Joplin died Feb. 8, 2004, at her home. She was born March 25, 1928, in Highfill/Healing Springs community to Adrien Anderson and Mary Elizabeth Smith Waldrip. She lived in Goodman, Mo., for 12 years, where she and her husband owned and operated Watson Reality. She was preceded in death by her husbands, David Pennington, in 1979 and Guy Watson, on Jan. 19, 1989, and one son, Randall Pennington in November 1997. Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Pennington Kincy Ball Boyer and husband Chuck of Highfill; four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bella Vista Funeral Home with Pat Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Daniels had moved to Missouri in 1948, and had lived in Essex since 1970. She was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri. On March 3, 1935, she was married to Leonard Raymond Daniels and he proceeded her in death on March 5, 1971. Mrs. Daniels is survived by four sons: Clinton Daniels of Sikeston, Missouri, Verlis Daniels of Picayune, Mississippi, James and Alva Daniels both of Paragould, Arkansas, seven daughters: Elwanda Maddox of Dexter, Missouri, Oleta Whitley of Morehouse, Missouri, Mary Roberts of St. Louis, Missouri, Janet Gallo of Fenton, Missouri, Ruth Swope of Warrensburg, Missouri, Lela Rushing and Karen Ramsey both of Essex, Missouri, thirty-six grandchildren, seventy great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, one brother Paul Henderson of Deer, Arkansas, three sisters Lura Henderson of Deer, Arkansas, Morma Edgmon of Jasper, Missouri, and Deliah Wuilson of Joplin, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son: Johnny Dale Daniels of Richmond, VA on May 11, 2003. The wake was held on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 16, 2003 at the Hickory Grove Church near Nail, Arkansas. Interment services were held at the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Nail, Arkansas. Hastings native Robert James 'Bobby' Weber, 30, of Holiday Island, Ark., died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in Springdale, Ark. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Parish Center in Eureka Springs, Ark. Burial will be in the Eureka Springs Cemetery. Nelson's Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Weber was born Feb. 8, 1969, to Dr. Clarence R. and Delores A. (Homan) Weber in Hastings. In 1987 he graduated from Mur Hill Prep School in Atchinson, Kan. He also graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy in 1995. He had worked for 10 years at the Eureka Springs Police Department. He was a member of the Carroll County Search and Rescue Team and a volunteer for the Holiday Island Fire Department. He also was a former member of the Eureka Springs Fire Department. He was a member of the Basin Springs Masonic Lodge No. 386 in Arkansas. Survivors are his mother of Holiday Island; one brother, David of Pickerton, Ohio; and two sisters, Ann Sieg of Holiday Island and Mary Norman of West Fork, Ark. He was preceded in death by his father. |

Funeral services for Dorothy Priscilla Rowe, 84, of Blackgum, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, at Blackgum Christian Union Church, with Revs. Loran Collins and Ronnie Wiles officatiating. Burial was in the Box Cemetery, north of Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. Rowe was born Aug. 19, 1917, near Blackgum to Harrison Pruitt and Carrie (Stubbs) Pruitt. She died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002 in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Blackgum Christian Science Church. She married Robert F. 'Frank' Rowe on Oct. 7, 1939, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jumper of Sallisaw and Alice Stahl of Vian; nine sons, James Rowe of Gore, Robert Rowe of Garland, Texas, Norman Rowe of Van Buren, Ark., Earl Rowe, Merel Rowe and Paul Rowe all of Sallisaw, Charles Rowe of Fort Smith, Ark., David Rowe of Webbers Falls and Edwin Rowe of Harrah; 40 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virgie Wiles of Huntsville, Ark.; one brother J.T. Clyde A. Watson, 92, of Huntsville died October 31, 2003, at his home. He was born August 21, 1911, near Mante to Garland VanBuren and Lyda Jane Phillips Watson. He was a member of Huntsville First Assembly of God Church and Huntsville Lodge 364, Free and Accepted Masons, and a 32nd degree Mason. He worked in the oil fields in California and retired as assistant chief of police of the Arkansas Transportation Commission. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Callico; two grandchildren, Artis Callico and Arlea Callico. Survivors include his wife, Ella M. Traver Watson, whom he married on July 16,1942, of the home; one daughter, L. Clydeen Sloan and husband J. Lester Sloan of Huntsville; one sister, Edith McCoy of Huntsville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. Johnny Case and the Rev. Brad McMath officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery. Willie Kenner Deweese, 71, of Hawthorne, Calif., formerly of Berryville, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in Hawthorne. He was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Rudd, son of Ellis George and Ida Elizabeth (Sisco) Deweese. Mr. Deweese was a veteran, having served his country with the United States Army during World War II. He was an inspector for GM Motors for 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three sisters, Molly Deweese of Hawthorne, Dorothy Allred of Springdale, and Bonnie Walker of Berryville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanna Deweese; his parents; a brother, Norman Deweese; and a sister, Artie Allred. Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 31, at the Charles M.
