Robert William Toler, 76, of Rogers died July 24, 1999. He was a former resident of North Little Rock, a member of the First Baptist Church of Rogers and a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jeanette Toler; one son, Ron Toler of Little Rock; one daughter and son-in-law, Robbie Horton and Jerry of Springdale; one sister, Betty Weinrich of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Heather Horton of Fayetteville and Brett Horton of Springdale; one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be at noon Monday at the First Baptist Church of Little Rock with Dr. John Wright officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home of Little Rock. Jerry Wayne McCollough, 49, of Prairie Grove died May 28, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 31, 1951, in Berryville to Ernest Clay and Loral Alene Howard Woods. He was a computer programmer and a member of Northwest Arkansas Computer Users Club and ACE Computer Club. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Davis McCollough, to whom he was married June 21, 1975; his mother and stepfather, Loral Woods and Troy of Berryville; two sisters, Sharon Wade of Bethel Heights and Laura Heiskell of Fayetteivlle. Rolland Edward Kendrick, 84, of Springdale died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. Born May 27, 1918, in Springdale, he was the son of O. C. 'Jonah' and Minnie Pearl Lynch Kendrick. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he worked as superintendent at a Tyson’s Food Mill for 30 years and was also a farmer. He was a past member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association and a member of the Missouri Fox Trotters Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Belgian Saddle Horse Association. His religious preference was Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Henrietta Beasley Kendrick. Survivors include his wife Myrtle Fisher Horton Kendrick of the home; two sons, Jerry Ron Kendrick of Springdale and Michael Edward Kendrick of Orangeburg, S. C.; a stepson, David Horton of Lampe, Mo.; two daughters, Sue Kendrick Corbin of Garfield and Linda Smith of Rogers; four stepdaughters, Patricia Council and Ann Owen, both of Rogers, and Aimee Horton and Linda Horton, both of Springdale; two sisters, Wilma Phillips and Ruby Kuxhaus, both of Springdale; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Rex Lee Vanderpool, 83, of Jasper died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Robert Harris and Troy Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 27 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Vanderpool, Jason Ricketts, James Spears, Phillip Vanderpool, Junior Raulston and James Compton. Honorary pallbearers include family and friends. The son of the late James Benjamin and Martha Viola Carter Vanderpool was born March 6, 1920 in Norman, Okla. He married Dorothy Harris on March 19, 1948 in Newton County and had worked for the county judge and county sheriff in Newton County many years ago. He also worked in law enforcement as a private deputy in Johnson County, Kan. where he and his wife had lived for 39 years. They returned to Newton County in 1994. Mr. Vanderpool was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jimmy and Jerry Vanderpool; two brothers, James and Earl Vanderpool; and a sister, Virchie Vanderpool. Eunice Mullen, 67, of Combs died June 19, 2001, at Fayetteville City Hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1933, in Combs to Jess Nathaniel and Lydia Patrick Perkins. Jimmie Rodger Sumpter, 53, of Colcord died July 23, 1999, at Skaggs Hospital in Branson, Mo. He was born May 14, 1946, in Gore, Okla., to Andrew Galloway and Almeda Brown Sumpter. He was a maintenance supervisor and construction worker at Flint Ridge. He had lived in Colcord for 22 years, moving from Vian, Okla. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. On Saturday morning January 2, Frank Dawson was taken suddenly ill with something like paralysis and lived only about five hours. He was laid to rest in the Boiling Springs Cemetery Sunday afternoon. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his death. He has been twice married, his first wife, Miss Battenfield preceding him in death several years ago and leaving three children. His present wife, a Miss Wilson. She has two small children. Bro. Dawson was a member of the Presbyterian church, a good, quiet citizen, a good husband and father and a good neighbor. Alice L. Morris, age 82, of Harrison, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 13, 2003, at the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. She was born April 30, 1921, in Jasper, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank Jay and Mirtie (Campbell) Smith. She was a member of the Marble Falls First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Morris; a great-granddaughter, Kirsten Marie Morris; and five brothers and sisters. Mary Ruth Franks, 69, of Bentonville, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at a local nursing home. She was born Nov. 19, 1933, in Mobeetie, Texas, to Paul Vain Jeffus and Fannie Mae Adcock Jeffus. She was a lifetime resident of the area. She married Joe Franks on Aug. 18, 1950, in Bentonville. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was a member of the Rogers Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her dogs. Her husband of 52 years, Joe Franks, also died on Dec. 10, 2002. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeph Jeffus. Mrs. Elizabeth Mathews, wife of Alex Mathews, residing over the mountain southwest of town, died on last Saturday night (Nov 9, 1912) at the ripe old age of 91 years. She had been ailing for a long time, having been totally blind for the past several years. She was formerly Mrs. Gideon Gardenhire, her first husband having been kill during the Civil War.
