Rudolph L. Buell, 88, of Bentonville died May 26, 2001, at Bates Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born Aug. 4, 1912, in Green Forest to Sherman and Melandy Benton Buell. He was a longtime resident of Bentonville and owned and operated Buell hardware for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was a lead bomber and in charge of 72 missions. He retired as a lieutenant-colonel and received the Distinguished Flying Cross award and the Army's Air Medal. He enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Marie Rakes Buell of the home, whom he married April 23, 1983; one brother, Kelly Buell of Bentonville; two grandchildren, Angela Schuldt of Fayetteville and Mathew Jones of Benton. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Bentonville. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery. W. Dennis Eoff, 80, of Kingston died Feb. 14, 2001, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Kingston to George Washington and Lizzie Beth Stokes Eoff. He was a farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 230 in Kingston and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. His wife, Mary Ruth Bowen Eoff, died on May 8, 1998. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard Eoff and Mary of Kingston and Dale Eoff of Springdale; three daughters and one son-in-law, Janice Ponder and Jim of Witter, Anice Bunch of Kingston and Diana Griggs of Dean; three sisters, Emmie Blackston and Minnie Davidson, both of Springdale, and Lottie Estep of Compton; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Liberty Church with Donnie Villines and Denver Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville. Earnest Claud McChristian, 80, of Japton, Arkansas died June 25, 2000 at his home. He was born July 6, 1919 at Japton, Arkansas the son of Thomas Maynard and Pearl Alpha Eubanks McChristian. He was a veteran of World War Two, serving in the United States Navy, and a carpenter and farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Mrs. Maida Pauline Spurlock McChristian on February 22, 1998, one daughter, Mrs. Carol Rogers, one sister, Mrs. Faye Smith, and his parents. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James C. and Pat McChristian of Pettigrew, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in- law, Karen Sue and Ruben Bowman of Huntsville, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Mitchell of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Mrs. Bessie Mitchell of Japton, Arkansas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28th with Jack Harriman, Minister, officiating. Interment was in the Grose Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home at Huntsville. Clifford A. McCoy, 72, of Huntsville died May 31st (1997) at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born February 16, 1925 at Whitener, the son of Alfred 'Alf and Mattie Eubanks McCoy. He had retired from Campbell Soup Company in Fayetteville. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leola Samuels McCoy of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Debbie McCoy of Springdale; Jerry and Vicky McCoy and Scott and Heather McCoy, all of Huntsville, and Lanny and Sharon Byrd of Japton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and David Baker of Mayfield; Luann and Paul Auslam of Fayetteville and Karen and Rick Puryear of Spring Valley; two brothers, Alvie McCoy and Gene McCoy, both of Mayfield; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild and one step great-grandchild. Bobby L. Ball, 64, of 197 E. Glen, Farmington, died Monday, June 29, 1998 at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born March 23, 1934 in Texarkana, the son of Rev. O.R. Ball and Sylvia Pifer Ball. He attended church at the Living Faith Pentecostal Church of God and was a gospel singer. He managed the Elmdale Total Station in Springdale. Survivors include: his wife, Betty L. Patrick Ball of the home; two sons, Bobby Michael Ball of Rogers and David Carroll Ball of Fayetteville: three step sons, Wayman Burke White of Farmington, Mark Stephen White of Rogers and Jon Gregory White of Fort Smith; two step daughters, Margaret Ann McComas of Fayetteville and Tara Lynn Foster of Prairie Grove; his father and mother, Rev. Mrs. Donnie Daphney Mullins, 86, of Huntsville, died October 1, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center at Springdale. She was born August 7, 1913 at Loy, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Sep Lorena Austin Parker. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Jackson Mullins on January 7, 1998, one grandson, Michel Lynn Bryant, one son-in-law, John D. Bryant, seven brothers and two sisters. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Bryant of Huntsville and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held Monday, October 4th in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with C.J. Randy Lee Arnold, 35, of Stuttgart died May 20, 2001, at his home. He was born Nov. 16, 1965, in Rogers. He was an engineering manager for Producers Rice Mill. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and had served in the Naval Reserve. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stuttgart. Survivors include his wife, Cathelene Hoskyn Arnold; one son, Christian Thomas Arnold of the home; one daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Arnold of the home; his parents, Connie Simmons Fischer of Bentonville and Janice Arnold of Gravette; one brother, David Arnold of Centerton; one sister, Melissa Arnold of Fayetteville. He was a retired SMSGT with the U.S. Air Force, During his years of service, he was stationed at the following Air Force Cases; Morroco, Torrejon in Spain, Hahn in West Germany, Mather in Sacramento, California, Wright Patterson in Dayton, Ohio, Carswell in Ft. Worth, Texas and Schilling in Salina, Kansas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, E. Byron Otis Boyd, 82, of Fayetteville died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1936, completed business-administration courses from Oklahoma State University and received his CPA in 1943. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville and Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock. He was a member of Arkansas Builders and Contractors, Fayetteville Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, Moose Club, United Fund, past president of the Chamber of Commerce of Fayetteville, a member of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, United States Chamber of Commerce, Arabella Guild and an officer of United Commercial Travelers. He served six years on different boards of the City of Fayetteville and Planning Commission; four years on the board of the Chamber of Commerce of Fayetteville; four years on the Council at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pillar Club and United Way. In 1990, he received the Contractors Association Award for "Contribution to Excellence in Arkansas' Construction Industry." He was a sergeant in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1934-1942; warrant officer in the Naval Air Force in World War II from 1942-1945; Officer's Reserve from 1945-1950; Korean War instructor from 1950-1952. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude 'Honey' Boyd of 62 years. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Boyd Smith and Betty Boyd Marinoni of Fayetteville and Patty Boyd Kelly of Aurora, Ill.; a sister, Bea Parsons of Pomona, Calif.; four grandsons, Stephen Lindsey Smith of Fayetteville, Byron Scott Smith of Alaska, W. Thomas 'Tommy' Kelly III of Chicago and Kevin Brennan Kelly of Washington, D.C.; four granddaughters, Melissa Marinoni Smith of Maumelle, Lara Marinoni Henry of Rogers, Lydia Marinoni Tedford of Dallas, Texas, and Jennifer-Joe Smith Beaver of Fayetteville; five great-grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Nelson Jay Spence and the daughter-in-law of the late Alfred Edward Spence and Julia Ella Mae Bewley Spence. She was a member of the Assemblies of God and the World Wide Dream Builders. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; a sister, Marie Smallen; and a brother, Leonard Savage.
