Loretta Andrews, 100, of Rogers died September 8, 2000 at Beverly Health Care Center. She was born July 14, 1900, in Davis County, Ky., to Benjamin Franklin and Jaley Frances Evans Adams. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Kentucky and was a retired seamstress. She moved to the area 30 years ago from Indianapolis, Ind. Her husband, Eddie Andrews, preceded her in death in 1948. Survivors include one brother, Aubrey Adams of Rogers. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Barlow (Ky.) Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in Barlow. Howard Paul Yates, 63, of Farmington died March 13, 2000, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born June 30, 1936, at Red Star to John Arvil and Vada Hammond Yates. He was a graduate of Oark High School and an Army veteran. He was employed for many years by Elkhart Products Corp. and had retired from Latco. He was a member of the Prairie Grove United Methodist Church, the Senior Democrats and was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors include his wife, Billie Ratliff Yates of the home and to whom he was married in 1960; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeff Yates of Houston, Texas, John Yates and Charlotte of Little Rock and Greg Yates and Candace of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Virginia Hunter of Ozark. Maudie Alberta Moore, 81, of Springdale died Aug. 25, 2001, at Sheridan, Texas. She was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Bell County, Texas, to Erastis and Mary Elizabeth Knight Henderson. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God in Huntsville. Her husband, Doyle Lee Moore, died July 4, 1999. Survivors include four sons, Doyle E. Moore of Springdale, Billy Joe Moore of Omaha, Warren C. Moore of Sheridan, Texas, and Johnny W. Moore of Mountain Home; one daughter, Sue Hungate of Fayetteville; two sisters, Ruby Morgan of Kyle, Texas, and Vollie Henderson of Huntsville; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. James Madison Sparks, age 84 years, died Monday (Oct 21, 1940) at his home in Pettigrew after several months of failing health. Funeral services were conducted at the home and at the Alabam Church by Elder D.N. Dudgeon and burial was made in the Alabam Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers were Elton Sparks, John Moore, Clarence Titsworth, Alonzo Ballinger, Leonard Smith, and Lloyd Townsley, grandsons of the deceased. The arrangements were directed by the Bruce Breashers Undertaking Company. Mr. Sparks was a native of Illinois but, had resided in Madison County, Arkansas more than 75 years. His death was the first in his immediate family, being survived by his wife and eleven children. The five sons and six daughters are A.E. Sparks of Witter, Charley Sparks of Red Star, Albert D. Sparks of Huntsville, Elmer Sparks of Stilwell, Okla, Bryan Sparks of Stillwater, Okla, Mrs. Sallie Townsley of Coweta, Okla, Mrs. Myrtle Titsworth of Arvin, Calif, Mrs. Beulah Brandenburg of Kuns, Idaho, Mrs. Vergie Ward of Tulsa, Okla, Mrs. Della Eversole of Pettigrew and Mrs. Cora Ballinger of FAirland, Okla. all of whom were present at the funeral except two daughters Mrs. Titsworth and Mrs. Brandenburg. The death of our townsman, J. M. Sparks is reported in another column. Roland D. 'Brownie' Brown, 77, of Rogers died Aug. 18, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Kingsdown, Kan., to O.E. and Emma Sisson Brown. He moved to Rogers in 1986 from Houston, Texas, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a safety officer and retired from Phillips Petroleum Co. after 34 years. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the American Society of Industrial Security and was a member of and an instructor for the Red Cross. He was a former instructor for AARP 55/Alive. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Faye Brown of the home, to whom he was married 50 years; one daughter, Cindy McGovern of Austin, Texas; one brother, Desmond Brown of Green Valley, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Chelsea. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben J. Rowell officiating. Burial will be in Benton County Memorial Park. Maree Bernice Garris, 82, of Bella Vista died Aug. 22, 2002, at her home. She was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Oelwein, Iowa, to Robert John and Minnie L. Voelschow South. She was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bella Telephone for more than 25 years, retiring in 1972. She moved to Bella Vista in October 1997 from Ridge Manor, Fla. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and enjoyed oil painting and ceramics. Her husband, Peter Paul Garris, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Garris and wife Marylin of Bella Vista and Michael Garris and wife Kathy of Winfield, Iowa; four grandchildren, Michelle and Troy Garris, Jennifer Dill and Erik Garris; one great-grandchild, Aliyah Dill. Paul A. Martin, 87, of Fayetteville died April 23, 1999, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born June 6, 1911, in Greenland to Edward Henry and Estella Carney Martin. He was retired owner of Martin’s Hatchery and Feed Store and a member of Central United Methodist Church and was a past board member. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and member of the Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his wives, Myrtle B. Martin and Gena Faye Martin. Lloyd Stanley Mitchell, 86, of Colcord died April 22, 1999, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Ellis County, Okla., to Guy E. and Alta Stanley Mitchell. He moved to Colcord in a covered wagon and worked in the dairy business and raised cattle until retiring. He was a former employee of the Colcord Public School System, Headstart program in Jay, Okla., and had been a county road foreman for Delaware County. He was a member of Countryside Bible Church. Cleo Allen Boling, 84, of Bentonville died June 28, 2000, at Bates Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born July 4, 1915, in Bentonville to R.D. and Mary Watts Boling. He was a life resident of Bentonville and a graduate of Bentonville High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942-45. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the VFW, and was a commander and quartermaster of the VFW in Bentonville. He was a retired volunteer fireman and a board member of the Bentonville Babe Ruth League and Boy Scouts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nona Blake Boling. Kermit Roosevelt "K.R." Fancher, born January 2, 1930 Conner, Arkansas died February 18, 2003 age 73; Portland, Oregon; Son of James Poteet Fancher and Arcie V. Smith Fancher of Conner, Arkansas, and late of Portland, Oregon. My Uncle K R was not only in the Korean War, but also the Vietnam War. He is buried at the Redland Cemetery, Oregon City, Clackamas County, Oregon, next to his son Russell Fancher. He is survived by his sons, Colonel Ronald Fancher, US Army, Ft. Jackson, So. Carolina, and Richard Fancher, Huntington Beach California. His surviving sisters are: Irma G. Fancher Gade, Colorado; Thelma Fancher West, Texas; Rena Fancher Moynihan, Missouri; Lois Fancher Dixon, Oregon; Geraldine Fancher Dixon, Oregon; and LaVeta Fancher Lawton, New York. Deceased siblings: Chester Fancher, Vaughnie Fancher Carpenter, and Edith Fancher Britt. I think you can tell that he was a very handsome man, and was until the day he died. The son of the late Harold and Margerite (Evans) Evans was born July 3, 1930, in Berryville. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Freeman Heights Baptist Church, the Holiday Island Hi-Steppers and the Advisory Board for the Area Agency on Aging, and was a diesel mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Danny Evans.
On March 26, 1989, he was united in marriage with Dixie (Armstrong) Evans, who survived him. He also is survived by two sons, W.L. The son of the late Robert and Bessie Rhoda Davis was born on Feb. 24, 1930 in St. Louis, Mo. He was a resident of Boone County for 24 years and a prior resident of St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Davis was an asphalt paving contractor, a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the VA, and the American Legion. He was also a fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Heller Davis of Lead Hill; a son, Stephen R. Davis of St. Louis; three step-sons, Robert Steiniger of St. Louis, James Steiniger of Calif. and Thomas Steiniger of Fla.; a daughter, Karen S. Larry L. Henderson, 71, of Rogers died July 30, 2002, at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Fort Lupton, Colo., to Ralph and Mansella Davis Henderson. He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was an avid fly-fisherman and enjoyed bowling and computers. He owned and operated Larry's Tax Service in Rogers. He was an accountant and had been employed by the Dallas Times-Herald, Portland Cement Co. and Hometown Hardware in Rogers. He was a Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Henderson of the home; three sons, Rick Henderson of Garland, Texas, Kevin Henderson of Richardson, Texas, and Scott Henderson of Gladewater, Texas; one daughter, Kim Yerton of Tulsa, Okla.; his mother, Mansella Offe of Denver, Colo; three brothers, Jerry Henderson of La Grange Calif., Kenneth Henderson of Denver and Bing Henderson of Ohio; one sister, Zoe Offe of Aurora, Colo.; nine grandchildren.

Ruth Miley, 80, of Rogers died April 24, 1999, at her home. She was born May 10, 1918, in Simsboro, La., to Crawford David and Myrtle Ann Cunningham.
She was a homemaker who moved to the area in 1990 from Homosassa, Fla.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rogers and a former member of the Homosassa, Fla., Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph K. Miley to whom she was married in 1948.
