Johnson County, Arkansas Marriage Record Book N, page 24. Cyrus Campbell was born April 4, 1837 in Tennessee to Salathiel Campbell and Nancy Ann Boen; he died April 11, 1921 in Oklahoma. Second marriage information for Cyrus follows divorce info. Note: Cyrus served in the Union Army during the Civil War; Company E 2nd Regiment Arkansas Infantry Union Army.

Elizabeth Gillian was daughter of Major M. Gillian and Mary Grimmett. Additional marital info for Eliza appears below.

Two years into their marriage, Cyrus Campbell requests divorce from Eliza:

Cyrus Campbell} vs Bill for Divorce No., 568. Elizabeth Campbell}

Comes said complainant by his solicitor and the said defendant being called failed to appear, and plead answer to said complaintiffs bill, and the court being satisfied that said defendant had been duly served with process herein more than thirty day and before the commencement the present term of this court, It is therefore ordered and decreed by the court that said Complainant, in his said bill are proven, It is further ordered adjudged and decreed by the defendant be and they are here dissolved, And the said defendant be and she is hereby ordered to attend at the courthouse in said County of Johnson on or before the 4th day of the next term of said court and show cause, if any she can show why this judgement and decree shall not be made final and absolute.

Saturday morning September 22, 1860 court met pursuant to adjournment present as yesterday.
Cyrus Campbell} Complainant vs. Divorce No., 568. Elizabeth Campbell} Defendant}

And now on this day the said defendant wholly failing to appear and plead or otherwise answer to the said complainants bill, It is ordered adjudged and decreed by the court that the judgement entered at the last term of this court be and the same is hereby made final and absolute. And that the said complainant pay all the cost herein expended.

I do hereby certify that I, Benjamin Pelts, did on the 4th day of April A.D. 1870 at the 
residence of the brides mother, solemnize the rites of matrimony between Edward Martin and 
Elizabeth Gillian both of lawful age. I further certify that I am a regular ordained minister
of the gospel of the United Baptist Church, and that my credentials are recorded in the town 
of Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas.

Wednesday morning September 20th A.D. 1871 court met pursuant to adjournment present and presiding the same yesterday.

And now on this day came the plaintiff by her Attorney and filed the evidence herein And the defendant having been duly served with process and having failed to answer And the evidence failed being sufficient to sustain the allegations in the conplaintants complaint It is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed that the bonds of matrimony heretofore solemnized between the plaintiff and defendant be set aside canceled and held for naught that both be restored to their former rights anterior to their marriage and that the plaintiff be restored to her former and maiden name namely Eliza E. Gillian and that the defendant pay all cost herein...
