John W. Vanzant was son of Andrew Jackson Vanzant and Rhoda Ann Hinds; born March 26, 1847. Margaret was born October 7, 1852 in North Carolina to Samuel D. Hinds and Margaretta Peterson.

Samuel Andrew Jackson Vanzant
Dallas LaFayette Vanzant
Sarah Elizabeth Vanzant
Margaret died in January of 1879. John W. Vanzant's second marriage took place in April of the same year.
