Brackin Lewis was born December 19, 1801 in Orange County, North Carolina, he died February 15, 1891 in Washington County, Arkansas. He married Matilda Preston December 23, 1819 in Floyd County, Kentucky.

Son Zachariah Lewis was born December 23, 1843 in Washington County, Arkansas, and died March 27, 1916 in Hood County, Texas. He was buried Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. He married Emeline Ramey December 12, 1869 Washington County, Arkansas, daughter of James H. Ramey and Elizabeth Reed. She was born November 21, 1849 in Arkansas, and died February 25, 1945 in Hood County, Texas.
