Thanks Lisa!
Our line begins with the people we know of who lived in Alabama. George W. Cox was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama, in 1843. His father's name may have been William Cox. George was in the Lauderdale Light Dragoons, Company H, 4th Alabama Infantry, CSA. He applied for a pension in 1908 and his widow applied in 1917. George married Mary Francis 'Fannie' Lipscomb on 13 December 1865 in Lauderdale County. Later they moved to Arkansas. They lived in Franklin County and from there moved to Sebastian County. Their children George Armstead, Elizabeth, and Calvin Breedlove were born in Arkansas. Later George and Fannie separated.
George held a variety of jobs. In Fort Smith, he drove a stagecoach, he worked at a boarding house, and also for the Fort Smith Parks Department, for the McLeod Sparks Furniture Company, and the C.J. Murta Furniture Company.
He remarried; his second wife's name was Cynthia. In his obituary, a daughter, Mrs. Louise Maier (or Maler) is mentioned; it is not known if she is his stepdaughter or a daughter he and Cynthia had together. He died on 22 July 1916 and was buried at Oak Cemetery; at this writing the military marker that was ordered has not yet been received. Son Armstead married and moved to Oklahoma, and later his children William Jerome and Lena moved to California. Daughter Elizabeth married John Jordan; they had two sons, Roy and Raymond. Son Calvin Breedlove married Edna Bell and had seven children--Helen, Russell, Reuben, Kathryn, Nell, Margaret, and John Calvin. They lived in Franklin County and Sebastian County. Some stayed in Arkansas and some moved to Texas and California; descendants still live in these states. (some info from Southwestern American obituary)
