William E. Jones was born in Newton County, Arkansas, July 6, 1869, son of Enoch Jones and Elizabeth Yeates. Married Annie Phoebe East on May 4, 1887 in Auburn, Sebastian County, Arkansas. Annie Phobe was born in Independence County, Arkansas on August 14, 1870, daughter of Martin Alonzo East and Eliza H. Jones. William attended the public schools at Greenwood, Sebastian County, and the Medical School of the University of Arkansas, from which he was graduated in 1896. He took postgraduate work at Tulane University, New Orleans in 1904 and took a special course at that university in 1911. He first practiced at Charleston, Franklin County, but moved to Poteau, Okla in 1897, where he became widely known as a physician and surgeon. He was medical examiner for a US government board from 1904 to 1907 and was division surgeon for the Kansas City Southern railroad. He joined the army as a lieutenant in the Medical Corps in 1918 and served on the Medical Examining Board at Camp Forest, Georgia, until a month after the armistice. He established his residence in Little Rock in that year and has been active in professional and civic affairs of the city. Dr. William E. Jones died December 26, 1931; Annie Phobe Jones died February 26, 1960...both are buried in Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock.

         Born November 22, 1908 in Paris, Logan County, Arkansas 
         Died December 16, 1998 Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas
