Jacob Arnold was born about 1788 in Mason County, Kentucky; died December 2, 1846 in Bear Creek, Searcy County, Arkansas. He was buried in Old Arnold Cemetery in Searcy County, grave no longer located. He married Rebecca Thompson January 14, 1819 in Illinois Territory, daughter of Thomas Thompson and Nancy Kenslo. She was born about 1789 in Mason County, Kentucy, and died about 1854 in Bear Creek, Searcy County. She was also buried in Old Arnold Cemetery, grave no longer located.

Children of Jacob Arnold and Rebecca Thompson are:

   i. Abigail Arnold, born about 1819 in Illinois; married John McClure  

  ii. Thomas Arnold, born about 1821 in Illinois 

 iii. William Arnold, born September 18, 1822 in Wabash County, Illinois;
      died April 8, 1898 at Arnold Bend, Searcy County, Arkansas
      married Martha Elizabeth Dean, August 17, 1839 in Searcy County
      married Caroline Owens, February 2, 1879 in Searcy County 

  iv. Nancy Arnold, born about 1824 in Bellmont, Wabash Co. Illinois;
      married Joseph Painter, about 1837 
      died about 1846 Coffee Precient Bellmont, Illinois;
      buried Painter Cemetery  

   v. Jacob Arnold, born about 1826 in Wabash Co., Illinois;
      died March 17, 1865 in Louisburg
      husband of Jemimah Caroline Unknown 

  vi. John Arnold, born September 17, 1835 in Tennessee;
      died October 8, 1902; buried Hammond Cemetery, Highlandville, Missouri
      married about 1852 Mary T. Dean
      married about 1861 Martha Downey Mays 

 vii. James Arnold, born about 1838 in Arkansas;
      died 1863 Corinth 
      married 1859 Mary Eliza Cash, Leachville, Craighead County, Arkansas
