Henry Tilley In Civil War

Henry Tilley, son of William Henry 'Grandsire' Tilley and Lucinda Arnold.

'Grandsire' Tilley and his 3 sons all served in Company K, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry during the Civil War.

'Grandsire' and sons, Henry and John, enlisted February 1, 1864 in Wiley's Cove (Leslie) Arkansas. Son James enlisted in June or July, he had to wait until his 18th birthday.

Henry's wife, Mary Elizabeth Beavers Tilley, appears as Widow on the below pension record. (ref: Film Number M383 roll 4)

Henry was buried at Beavers-Tilley Cemetery in Searcy County, Arkansas...his military marker appears in the cemetery album.
