Robert Boen was born April 1843 Centerville, Hickman County, Tennessee. The son of Lewis Boen and Mary Hodge. Robert Boen married Mary Simpson Carlton in Newton County, Arkansas August 30, 1863. Mary was born August 22, 1847 in Marion County, Tennessee to Alfred Carlton and Mary 'Polly' Allison Carlton. Robert and Mary are buied at Swain Cemetery.

Children of Robert and Mary Carlton Boen are:

# 1 Amanda 'Mandy' Boen, born in 1865. She married Joseph C. 'Joe' Curtis.

# 2 Martha Boen, born September of 1868 at Swain, Newton County, Arkansas. Martha married Benjamin F. Buchanon June 19, 1887 at Murray.

# 3 Sarah Boen, born February of 1868 at Parthenon, married James W. 'Jim' Swain.

# 4 Calvin Andrew Boen, born January of 1870 in Newton County, died in 1941 at Bellfonte, Boone County, Arkansas...buried Bellefonte Cemetery. Calvin married Sarah Fine Stapleton, daughter of Isaac F. Stapleton and Matilda Jane 'Murray' Stapleton.
