His description at enlistment: six feet three inches tall, gray eyes, hair was dark and his complexion dark. During the Civil War, Jerry's Military Records show him as deserted and absent on detached service with a Captain Vanderpool. buried Moore Cemetery, grave is marked with a Military Marker.
