Miles Jackson Webb In Civil War

Enlisted February 15, 1862
Russellville, Arkansas
Private, Company F
1st Battalion
Arkansas Cavalry, CSA
Furnished his own horse.

While serving with Sterman's Regiment of Sharp Shooters, Miles J. Webb was severely wounded in the Battle of Corinth, Mississippi, October 4, 1862. He was in the hospital at Viaden, Mississippi.

On July 4, 1863 Miles was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi...appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War.

At Vicksburg, Mississippi, July 7, 1863, in the terms of the capitulation of the city of Vicksburg and its Garrisons by Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton, CSA, he gave a solemn oath not to take up arms against the United States nor to serve in any way with the Confederate States of America until duly exchanged by the proper authorites.
