1. JASPER NEWTON 'JAPE'2 CASE (ANDREW JACKSON 'JACKSON'1) was born September 29, 1891 in Fallsville, Newton County, AR, and died May 30, 1978 in Johnson County Regional Hospital, Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas. He married LILLIE ETHEL ATKINS, daughter of BENJAMIN ATKINS and POLLY COWAN. She was born February 25, 1897 in Fallsville, Newton County, AR, and died September 05, 1962.

As a grown man he stood about 5 ft. 9 in. tall and weighed about 160 pounds. He enjoyed hunting, his dogs, and his grandchildren. (This information came from his granddaughter Wanda Tolbert). In 1949 at the time of his sister's Martha's death, he lived in Oark, AR. Also in 1958 when his half-brother Tildon died he was still living in Oark, AR (This information came from Martha's obit). Burial: June 02, 1978, Oark Cemetery, Johnson County, Arkansas. Occupation: retired farmer

Obituary: Verna Warren Strickland, 84, of Clarksville died Friday, July 16, in Countryside Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 2, 1915, at Oark, a daughter of the late Jasper N. and Ethel Atkins Case. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a member and past worthy matron of the Clarksville Chapter No. 172 Order of Eastern Star, a member of Oark Grange and past state secretary of Arkansas State Grange. She was a school teacher, a retired post master and a member of the Retired Post Masters Association.

She was preceded in death by two step sons, Robert and Grant Warren.

Survivors include two daughters, Anna Fern Baskin of Clarksville and Wanda Faye Tolbert of Franklin, Tenn.; one sister, Josphine Baker of Wichita, Kan.; one brother, Jasper N. Case Jr. of Wichita; six grandchildren, Kevin and Laura Baskin of Clarksville, Thad Tolbert of Birmingham, Ala., Paige Tolbert of Franklin, Jan Warren of Kansas City, Mo., and Bob Warren of Houston, Texas; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with burial at Oakland Cemetery at Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Jasper Case Jr., 63, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kan. A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late J. N. and Ethel Case, attended Oark School and Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, a retired realtor, and was preceded in death by one brother, Arlie Case; and four sisters, Marie McKinney, Anna Dewberry, Lois Johnson, and Verna Warren.

Survivors include one sister, Josephine Baker of Wichita, Kan.; three nephews, Carl Dewberry of Tulsa, Okla., Jim Baker of Wichita, Kan., and Rick Johnson of California; and six nieces, Wilma Boyer, Barbara Ackerman and Delores Johnson, all of California, Anna Baskin of Clarksville, Wanda Tolbert of Nashville, Tenn., and Karen Knipp of Wichita, Kan.

Graveside services and burial were April 24 at Kechi Cemetery in Wichita, Kan.
