places even walking across by stepping on rocks. Here's an article that

Heat Pops Corn For Newport Man
J. N. Shirley of near Newport has proof that the weather has been warm
down on his farm. The evidence is an ear of popcorn, part of which has been
popped by the intense heat. Shirley said that half his crop of popcorn was
in the same condition.
