2. Louis 'Harvey'2 Fisher (Needham 'Cap' Alexander1, William Blakea) was born Sep 12, 1891, and died Oct 8, 1984.
He married Una Abla Shaver Oct 29, 1914, daughter of James Shaver and Elzabeth Dunn. She was born Jul 30, 1878, and
died Jul 26, 1974.
Notes for Louis 'Harvey' Fisher:
Born at Gid, Izard County, Arkansas, Harvey was the only child of his parents; but was a half-brother to 9 other
Fisher sons and two daughters, Mary Oda and Janie Fisher of Texas. Of these 9 sons of Captain Fisher's, it is said,
they were a full baseball team of Fisher boys and had a reputation of playing a good game after they moved into
Shamrock, Texas.
Mr. Fisher has farmed a 52 acre farmland during his working years to help sustain his family; hired out in
neighbors' fields; plowing corn for 50 cents a day; with a days work consisting of 16 to 18 hours some days; with
a lantern hanging from the plow handles to shine the way in the fields; and Mr. Fisher say, 'I have worked for every
sawmill they ever had then in Izard County for $1.25 to $1.50 per day.' 'Back then, 50 cents a day would buy nearly
as much as a days work now will buy. 50 lbs. of flour sold then, for six bits.'
He says, 'We handcradled our wheat into bundles and hauled them to Anderson to have it milled, and after that
mill quit, we had to take it to the mill at Franklin.'
The Fishers were married at the Tom Ledford place near Old Mt. Lebanon, by Justice of the Peace, Lincoln Moser.
The couple celebrates 60 years of marriage this October, 1974.
The son, Loren is in Mich.; Herbert of Melbourne; and daughter, Eva Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Cleo (deceased).
Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
When asked, 'What were the happiest days of your lives?' Mr. Fisher said he was happiest when he was working in
the fields and at the sawmills. Mrs. Fisher stated: 'I always felt like I'd live a long time; and I don't know how
or why, but I'm not tired of living. I want to do what God wants me to do if he has something.'

Menard Harvell told me in a phone call on Apr 17, 2005, that Jess Walls was lazy. That he had been given a whipping
by the men in the community for not taking care of his family. Menard recalled Willie and Maude, his Aunt Mary's two
oldest children by Jess. He said that Willie would come visit and stay for long periods of time. - RDH
