Anderson Sutton was born in Tennessee on July 19, 1814 to Dempsey and Elizabeth Donoho Sutton. Anderson married Rhoda Lancaster December 9, 1835 in Izard County, Arkansas. She was born December 19, 1819 in Tennessee. Rhoda died September 7, 1886 in Bell County, Texas. Anderson Sutton died in Nolanville, Bell County, Texas September 25, 1906, they are buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Nolanville.

Their children:
1. Mary Ann Sutton, born December 18, 1836 Izard County, Arkansas, died January 19, 1894 in Bell County, Texas. Mary married George Harper. Her second marriage was to James Henry Cox.
2. Andrew Sutton, born April 28, 1838 in Izard County, Arkansas, died during Civil War at the battle of Arkansas Post, January 11, 1863.
3. Jesse Sutton, born October 30, 1839 Izard County, Arkansas, died October 15, 1917. Husband of Susan Turner.
4. Ailey Sutton, born December 21, 1840 Izard County, Arkansas.
5. Nancy Sutton, born May 16, 1842 Izard County, Arkansas.
6. Jan Sutton, born October 24, 1843 Izard County, Arkansas.
7. Tempy Sutton, born May 19, 1845 Izard County, Arkansas. Wife of Joseph L. Polk.
8. Robert Sutton, born 1846 Izard County, Arkansas.
9. Elizabeth Sutton, born October 27, 1847 Izard County, Arkansas. Wife of S. C. Parker. Elizabeth died April 29, 1935 Bell County, Texas.
10. Zilpha Sutton, born September 1, 1849 Izard County, Arkansas. Wife of James A. Polk. Zilpie died June 6, 1937 Bell County, Texas.
11. Dempsey Sutton, born December 1, 1851 Izard County, Arkansas.
12. James P. Sutton, born March 17, 1855.
13. William A. Sutton, born July 22, 1857.
14. Francis M. Sutton, born 1859.
15. John David Sutton, born June 27, 1861.
