Rain on Big Island
Thursday, September 20, 1917
An exceptionally heavy rain fell ten miles southwest of Paragould Sunday afternoon at 4'oclock in the region of Lower Big Island and Schug's Mill1. The rain was accompanied by a severe wind storm which blew down a number of dead trees. Hail also fell for several minutes although neither the wind or hail damaged the crops.
1Note from Tina: Schug's Mill was east of where the Schugtown Co-op is now located.
