Dad was born December 1, 1919 at Bono, Greene County, Arkansas. He moved to Alton, Madison Co., Illinois in 1948.

He was a busy man in his old age...Owner of Davis Carpet Service, retired and still worked there as an employee for 30 years. A member, past master and certified lodge instructor at Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 25 AF & AM. A member of the Order of Eastern Star, Alton Auxiliary Police and former President and member of the Alton Optimist Club. And he was an avid bowler.

Funeral was held at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Alton, with a standard funeral and the Masonic Rites. Over 750 people and friends signed his book...the funeral procession was 3 miles long.

Burial was at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, Madison Co. Illinois. With two grave side services...the regular Christian and Military Rites was conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1308 Ritual Team.
