Henry Clay Hooks, son of Charles Hook and Mary Cullifer, was born June 30, 1817 in Putnam County, Georgia. He died July 10, 1865 in Calhoun, Columbia County, Arkansas; buried Old Smyrna Cemetery, Calhoun, Arkansas. Henry Hooks was one of the slave overseers on the plantation owned by Samuel Paschal. Henry was married to Tabitha Elizabeth Paschal October 9, 1836 in Morgan, Georgia. Tabitha was born July 4, 1813 in Morgan County, Georgia. She died July 13, 1900; also buried in Old Smyrna Cemetery.

i. Larush Francis Hooks, born May 2, 1838 in Georgia; died seven days later.
ii. Nancy Jane Hooks, born on December 28, 1840 in Georgia; died October 27, 1933.
iii. Sarah Amanda Hooks.
iv. Mary Ann Hooks.
v. Martha Angeline Hooks, born June 10, 1843 in Georgia; died on December 1, 1932 in Erath County, Texas.
vi. Robert Benjamin Hooks, born June 10, 1848 in Alabama; died September 20, 1898 in Erath County, Texas.
vii. Susan Francis Hooks, born October 10, 1849 in Alabama.
viii. William Thomas Hooks, born July 28, 1851 in Alabama; died October 27, 1933 in Calhoun, Columbia County, Arkansas.
ix. John Charles Hooks, born October 4, 1853 in Georgia; died January 6, 1901 in Nevada County, Arkansas; buried in Piney Grove Cemetery, Nevada County.
x. Tabitha Elizabeth Hooks, born May 23, 1855 in Calhoun, Columbia County, Arkansas; died July 28, 1932.
xi. Leah Ann Hooks, born January 1, 1857 in Calhoun, Columbia County, Arkansas; died December 25, 1945 in Texas.
xii. James Henry Hooks, born January 20, 1859 in Calhoun, Columbia County, Arkansas; died May 10, 1945 in Texas.
