Rhoda Catherine Jones is the daughter of William Jones and Sarah Margaret Blevins. William is the son of James and Mary Standridge Jones. Sarah is the daughter of Squire Blackie and Rhoda Standridge Blevins.
In 1860, Rhoda Catherine is listed with the Squire Blevins family in Carroll County, Arkansas, 10 years old. In 1870, Rhoda is married to Ben Hurley and listed in Kings River Twnship of Carroll County with Rebecca Hurley's family. Ben is the son of Valentine and Rebecca Hurley.

In the matter of the application of Rhoda Smith et als., for
enrollment as citizens of the Cherokee Nation, said Roda Smith being sworn by Commissioner Needles, testified as follows:
You present here a certificate of admission to Cherokee citizenship issued by the Commission on CN Citizenship on the 30th day of June, 1888 signed by J. D. Adair, Chairman on the Committee on citizenship xxxx atttested by Cornell Rogers, secretary, and approved and endorsed by the Principal Chief, J. D. Mayes, issued under the great seal of the Cherokee Nation for the following persons, one of whom is Catherine Hurley.
Certificate of citizenship being presented by Catherine Hurley, and Rhoda Catherine Hurley, the applicant, being identified as the same identical person named in the certificate which has been described in the testimony
just given, and she having made satisfactory proof of her residence in the Cherokee Nation as provided by law, she is ordered placed upon the rolls now being prepare by this
Commission.
Brown McDonald, being sworn by Commissioner Needles, says as
Stenographer to the Commission to the Five Civilized Tribes, he
reported in full the testimony of the above named witness, and that the foregoing is a full, true and correct transcript of xx his notes.

A... Yes.

A... Yes.
Q... Is your name upon the roll of 1880?
A... I reckon, I don't know.
Q... What was your name in 1880?
A... Herly.
Q... How many times have you been married?
A... Three times. Herley was my first man.
Q...Is that intended for you?
A... Yes.
Q... Are you the identical person mentioned in this certificate as Catherine Hurley?
A... Yes.
Q... You have lived in the Nation ever since the issuance of this certificate?
A... Yes.
(1896 roll, Delaware District, page 526, number 2667.) There is a person on the rolls of 1896 by the name of Roda Catherine Smith.

A... Yes and sometimes just as Catherine.
