Information obtained from a letter Mamie wrote me dated July 29, 1981, after my mother and I visited them July 4, 1981. My Mother and Luther were cousins.

Colombus was the son of William Brice and Amanda Jane De Shields Hughey, Grandson of Henry and Wilson Hughey. Desc of Colombus Hughey and Nora Miller.

Colombus Hughey born March 28, 1871 and died August 31, 1934 married Nora Miller, she was born 9-27-1876 and died 9-4-1934 They had 2 children:
Luther Guy born 2-1-1898
Lessie May born 1-29-1904, died August 6, 1930
Luther Guy married Mamie Ellen Long February 16, 1918, they had 4 children:
Louise born and died in 1919
Luther Guy Jr born July 29, 1921
Clayton Henry born December 21, 1923
Jack Allen born June 9, 1929

Luther Guy Jr and Helen Marie Beasley were married December 5, 1942. Helens mother and father were Irvin and Fannie Otto Beasley. Their son David Nelson Hughey was born May 21, 1950 married Brenda Pritchard. Brenda's birthdate January 23, 1951, daughter of William and Mary Margaret Pritchard.

Clayton Henry Hughey was born December 21, 1923 married June 30, 1946 to Barbara Jean Martin, daughter of Glenn Cole Martin. They had 2 children:
Martin Gregory born March 29, 1949
Mary Ann born January 27, 1953, married 7-7-1979 to Chad Blanton.

Jack Allen was born 7-9-1929 married June 7, 1952 to Marjorie Adda Allen, daughter of Elmer and Ruth Hatfield Allen.
Elmer was born 8-11-1900 died 2-24-1976
Ruth was born 11-24-1894 died 10-13-1976
Jack and Marjorie's children were:
Douglas Allen born 2-28-1953
Beverly Ann born 2-3-1957
Laura Annie born 5-18-1959
Patrick Allen born 3-18-1964
Douglas married Jeane Marie Bartlett [note: Allen was adopted Father????] Beverly Ann married Kent E. Mc Canaughey June 2, 1979, son of Maxine and Eugene Mc Caughey
Laura Hughey not married
Patrick Allen not married

Lessie Mae Hughey Married Garland Manis May 16, 1922 They had 3 daughters:
Annie Lee married Jean Keller, had 1 daughter Phyliss Ann, Annie Lee divorced Jean Keller then married William Ping.
Kathleen Manis married Russ Dalton, no children. Kathleen died 1979 of cancer.
Lucille married Richard Smith, they had 4 children:
3 boys and 1 girl; the daughter passed away when she was a senior in high school and the sons all live in or near Hammond Indiana.
