Raphael Hansard In Civil War

In April 1861 Raphael Hansard enlisted in Company A 3rd Regiment Missouri Cavalry, CSA, under General Price in the State Guards.

In 1862 while at Cane Hill, Arkansas, he enlisted in Jackman's company, but later enlisted in Company C, 3rd Regiment under General Shelby.

He was in the battles of Wilson's Creek, Dry Wood, Lexington, Mark's Hill, and a great many skirmishes.

He surrendered at Shreveport, Louisiana, in June 1865.

Raphiel entered as a Private but in 1863 he was made 3rd Lieutenant of Company C.
