Item #101 Copeland Family:
Alfred 'Al' Thomas Copeland and Myrtle 'Trudy' Gertrude White-Copeland, son Melvin Copeland and grandson David (Butler) Copeland, that they raised. Photo taken in 1950. Alfred, born in Searcy County, Arkansas is the son of John Wesley Copeland.

Item #105 Anna Lee Copeland:
Alfred 'Al' Thomas Copeland and Myrtle 'Trudy' Gertrude White Copeland had two children, Melvin and Anna Lee. Anna Lee died of cancer at a young age. Ann's son David was raised by his grandparents Al and Trudy seen in Item #101.

This picture was taken on July 21, 1946. From left to right are Ben Baker, Dwaine Welling, Paul Baker (cousins). Ben and Paul are the sons of Raymond and Cornelia Baker. Dwaine is the son of Harold Welling and Pauline Baker-Welling.

Roy Hodges was born January 14, 1891 in Searcy County, Arkansas; son of William P. and Mary L. Taylor Hodges.

Item #116 Shipman Family:
George Morgan Shipman was my great-grandfather on my mother's side. Morgan and his wife, Louise (sometimes spelled Louzia) are pictured with nine of their twelve children. I don't know which children are pictured, but the names of their children are: Flora, Eliza Malinda, Sarah Ann, William Marion, Amanda, Charlotta, Arville, Maud, Emma, Claud, George, and Telia Florence. Perhaps someone from the Shipman family will see the picture and be able to identify the children. At least one of the Shipman family still lives near St. Joe. Morgan's grandson owns and operates the Siver Run cabins just South of St. Joe.

Item #117 Grinder Sisters:
Nomie Grinder Tyler (Tyler's Bend) and Stella Grinder Burnes sisters to Bob (Robert Andrew) Grinder and daughter's of George Washington Grinder. Goerge owned the Ferry on the Buffalo River. George also had the first telephone lines in St. Joe, the exchange was operated by his daughter Nomie and possibly Hannah. He also owned a sawmill in St. Joe.

Item #118 Bob and Perry Grinder:
Bob (Robert Andrew) Grinder with son Perry Grinder around 1927. Perry was around 7 years old. There were 10 children with 8 living to adult hood. Perry was 5th of the living children.

Son of Thomas Jefferson McElroy and Sarah, born December 17, 1829 in Wayne County, Tennessee; died May 30, 1907 in Searcy County, Arkansas, buried in Silver Hill Cemetery.
