Item #1076 Isaac and Howard Wishon:
Isaac 'Ike' Wishon is on the left. He was born March 4, 1903, died about 1925. Howard Taft Wishon is on the right, born November 3, 1908, died about 1925. Ike and Howard died about two weeks apart. They worked in the mines of Newton County and had some type of respiratory problem. They were sons of Milas Monroe Wishon and Lizzie Keeton. Ike and Howard are buried at Low Gap Cemetery, their graves are not marked.

Item #1079 Villines Siblings:
Some of Joseph Villines and Laura Bell McCracken's children. The lady on the back row, left side is Alice Lucinda Villines, my grandmother. The two men I am sure of are on the right side of back row. The one on the end is Harve and the one next to him is Walter. The lady with the hat is Laura Bell. There were 16 kids and I don't know how to guess the ages of the others.

Item #1082 George and Louie Turney:
This is George and his first wife, Louisia 'Louie' Reynolds. The daughter of Edmond Reynolds and Ananias Madewell. Louie was born June 8, 1882 on the Little Buffalo River. She died January 9, 1931 and is buried at Low Gap Cemetery. George then married Hattie Box August 1, 1931. See Five Shiny Pennies for picture of George and Hattie. George Turney died in 1957, buried Low Gap Cemetery. Obituaries for George and Hattie are indexed in Ponca Community.

Item #1084 Hendersons, 1920s:
This picture is from cousin Roger Daniels showing some Hendersons.
In the very back seat is Isaac Henderson, Jr, Lincoln Henderson, and Jack Walker. The driver of the car is unknown. The person sitting next to the driver is Jarrod Henderson. Can you identify any of the others? Does anyone recognize location? (could it be old lead mine at Jasper, Ar?)

Item #1085 Canning Factory:
This is a post card with message on back, it says: 1. Claude 2. Sneed 3. your mother 4. Eliza. That is Jack, Reta, and Rex in the picture (referring to the three small children). Rex is awfully sweet. Jack has on an oil cloth apron, he has been helping his mother peal tomatoes. The pictures isent very good but you can get an idea how the factory looks. Mother

Item #1088 Andrew, Stanley, and James Smith:
My Uncle Andrew Smith (my mother's brother) with his sons, Stanley on the left and James Harmon on the right. Uncle Andrew had a baseball team there at Lurton. I was told they were pretty good. This is copied from George Bickner's photos. George used to take lots of pictures in the old days. I am glad he did and I am glad he is willing to share.

William Edward VanCuren born in Filley, Missouri, Cedar County. He was born April 7, 1873 and died in Ponca, Arkansas on May 20, 1925. Buried Beechwoods Cemetery.

Mt. Sherman, circa 1910. Grandpa and Grandma Spencer in the front row on the left. Then next to Grandma is her brother, Emmett Barr. The guy in the top row on the far left is William Alonzo Spencer, grandpa's brother...and the gal on the top far right is grandpa's sister, Julia Victoria. See picture for all names.

My GGrandmother was Eliza O. Sparks, the youngest child of James Sparks and Mary Ann Matthews. James was a brother of Joshua and Abigail Sparks that are buried in Newton County. Eliza was born December 25, 1848 and died June 9, 1887.
